About 100 mafia has been arrested in Italy


Italian police held a major operation against Calabrian Mafia, 117 people in 14 states. They are accused of being involved in the Clan of "Ndrangeta" or cooperating with them. This was reported by EFE agency.

According to law enforcement, the Operation of Code "Millennium" is headed by the Administration of the Mafia of Rego Di Calabria with the participation of Callabria, Sicily Police and special forces, as well as international police agencies. The detainees are accused of compiling part of the mafia organization, drug trafficking, abduction, politicians and keeping illegal weapons.

In addition, an investigation has been launched to two enterprises, which are supposed to have been used for money laundering and a logistical assistance to criminal activity.

The operation was carried out after Italian law enforcement agencies found that the main mafia families of Rego Di Calabri were closely cooperating in the field of drug trafficking, both at the national and international level.
