The law on foreign agents adopted in Georgia aims to prevent external intervention, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told reporters.
On April 1, the Georgian parliament adopted a new law on foreign agents, which is similar to the US law. The bill is called a foreign agent registration act.

"The new US administration has stated that USAID, NED and other means have been used to develop a scenario in different countries, to organize revolutions, among other places.
In the context of this recognition, it has absolutely clear how important transparency legislation is in our country. No one has the right to interfere in our domestic political life from abroad, to plan more revolutions from abroad.
Therefore, the law of transparency will become Georgia's sovereignty, one of the main guarantees to protect our country's independence and national interests, "Kobakhidze said.
According to him, "Fara law is much stricter than the law passed by the Georgian side, but this law in Georgia will operate in accordance with human rights standards," he said.
