Chinese authorities are in favor of continuing a dialogue between Russia and Ukraine for a fair settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. The statement came from Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning.
"We hope that the stakeholders will continue negotiations and dialogue to achieve a fair, long-term peace agreement, which will be acceptable to each of them, and will eventually lead to the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis," he said, commenting on negotiations in Istanbul.
The official representative added that Beijing adopts a "consistent and clear position" in the Ukrainian issue.
