The President of Armenia expressed his condolences to the government and people of Iran

The President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan expressed his condolences to the government and people of Iran regarding the death of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and his accompanying staff as a result of a helicopter accident.

"I am deeply shocked by the terrible news of the helicopter crash, as a result of which the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian, and other officials were killed.

I express my sincere condolences to the government and friendly people of Iran. We share the grief of the people of Iran and wish them endurance and strength in this difficult time," Khachaturian wrote in his "X" microblog. The helicopter of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi crashed while landing in Iran's East Azerbaijan Province, when he was with the country's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and he was returning with other officials from the opening ceremony of the reservoir on the border of Iran and Azerbaijan. None of those in the destroyed helicopter survived.

According to the constitution of Iran, in the event of the death of the president, the duties of the president will be temporarily assumed by the first vice president of the country, Mohammad Mokhber, until the elections are held.
