Kobakhidze has expressed bewilderment for the US silence in restoring relations with Georgia

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobachidze in the open letter addressed to US President Donald Trump and Visi, Vensi, has expressed bewilderment on the prospects of recovering relations between the two countries on the silence of Washington.

Relations between Georgia and the United States have deteriorated in 2024 after the country adopted the law on foreign agents. On November 28, after the Kobakhidze's announcement, the US State Department suspended its strategic partnership with the republic.

Before electing Trump, the Georgian authorities have repeatedly stated that he has hopes for a change of government in the United States and the resolution of relations with Washington.
