US Navy fighter jet crashes during training flight


A US Navy EA-18G Growler fighter jet based at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island crashed during a training flight near the eastern part of Mount Rainier (Washington State). The Seattle Times reported the news.
According to her information, the fighter was assigned to the 130th Electronic Attack Squadron. A US Navy helicopter MH-60S was “sent to the crash site” as part of a search team, the newspaper clarifies. The status of the pilots has not yet been established.  The causes of the accident are being investigated.
The EA-18G "Growler" electronic warfare fighter represents a modification of the F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter. Its cost is $67 million.
