Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and other members of the delegation died in a helicopter accident after their visit to Azerbaijan, Mehr agency reports.
"The president of Iran and his entourage died in the accident with the helicopter... The president of our country, Ebrahim Raisi, died as a result of the helicopter crash in the mountainous region in the northwest of Iran. Hossein Amir Abdollahyan is also among the victims," the agency said.
In addition to the president and the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Imam of Tabriz Mohammad Ali al-Hashem, the head of East Azerbaijan province Malek Rahmati, the helicopter's crew and one security guard were in the helicopter.
Earlier, the Press TV channel, referring to the Iranian Red Crescent, reported that no survivors were found at the crash site, the helicopter was completely burned.
