Switzerland to hold a referendum on agreement with EU


The Swiss government calls on a referendum on a multi-agreement signed on Loading in May 2025 if the population demands it. This is stated in the statement posted on the country's Federal Council website.

The voluntary referendum is a mechanism that allows the population to be against the entry into force of the new law, putting it in a referendum if a certain number of citizens require it. The signing of the Texts of the Agreement is scheduled for Loading in May 2025.
