Yerevan will host the 2025 European Senior Karate Championship

Armenia will host the 60th European Senior Karate Championship in 2025. The decision was made during the conference of the European Sports Federation in Zadar, Croatia.

Armenia's application was submitted by the President of the National Karate Federation of Armenia, Vazgen Harutyunyan.

During the closing ceremony of the 59th European Senior Karate Championship, the President of the Croatian Karate Federation, Davor Cipek, handed over the flag of the European Karate Federation to the President of the National Federation of Armenia as the host country of the 60th European Senior Championship.

During the conference, the preliminary agreement on holding the 2027 European Karate Junior, Youth and Under-21 Championship in Armenia was also reaffirmed.

Armenia participated in the European Championship held in Croatia with 3 athletes. Under the leadership of coach Seryozha Makaryan, the silver medalist of the CIS Games Suren Harutyunyan (-67 kg), Hayk Karyan (-75 kg) and current European U21 winner Gor Nersisyan (-84 kg) were included in the Armenian team.
