The President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan had a meeting with the President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev as part of his official visit to Kazakhstan.

The President of Kazakhstan, warmly welcoming the President of Armenia, noted that his country is interested in raising the quality of Armenian-Kazakh relations to a new level. "I am sure that today's agreements will help strengthen bilateral relations. We attach great importance to regular high-level meetings, which serve as a solid foundation for Kazakh-Armenian partnership. Kazakhstan highly values ​​its friendly relations with Armenia. There is a warm attitude towards the Armenian people in Kazakhstan. For Kazakhstan, Armenia is a reliable and time-tested close partner. Our peoples are connected by strong friendly ties, common history and similar cultural and humanitarian values. I note with satisfaction the dynamic and progressive development of bilateral relations in all spheres," said the President of Kazakhstan.


Kasim-Jomart Tokayev also noted that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Armenia, and in this context, a solid institutional basis has been formed for bilateral relations. "Along with trade and economic cooperation, cultural and humanitarian ties between our peoples are actively developing. Last year, the Days of the Kazakh Theater in Armenia took place in Yerevan. Days of Kazakh culture are planned to be organized in your country next year. Today we will solemnly open the event dedicated to the Days of Armenian Culture in Kazakhstan," said the President of Kazakhstan.


Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan thanked Kasim-Zhomart Tokaev for his warm welcome. "I would like to thank you for your invitation to visit Kazakhstan on an official visit and for your warm, friendly reception. This visit, without a doubt, is another proof of the effectively developing cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Kazakhstan. I am sure that our friendship, our relations will be long-lasting, because they have historical roots. Kazakhstan is a reliable and friendly partner for us. And, of course, I want to emphasize our successful developing economic relations," said the President of the Republic.


Questions regarding the agenda of further development of bilateral relations were discussed at the meeting. The importance of promoting efforts towards the full implementation of the existing potential of interaction between the two countries was emphasized. In this context, President Khachaturyan emphasized the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Armenia and the official visit of the President of Armenia to Kazakhstan after a 20-year break.


The presidents exchanged views on regional realities and the general situation. In this context, Kasim-Jomart Tokayev emphasized Kazakhstan's willingness to provide a platform for the promotion of the peace agenda if necessary, and also emphasized the importance of the "Crossroads of Peace" project.
