The Cabinet of the Danish Ministers has decided to increase the number of troops on the Benchi Island. The Ministry of Defense of the country stated this.
Currently, a 200-member intelligence unit is located on the island. It is planned to move it to another area of Denmark. To deploy in Bornholm, it is recommended to create a separate infantry of up to 1,000 people. The purpose of the new subdivision will be to strengthen the "Danish defense" in the Baltic States.
Until 2033, Copenhagen plans to increase the number of the army by 5,000 to 28,000. The number of conscripts will be reached 6.5 thousand.
Currently, there are 200 soldiers in the Bornholm Intelligence Department, which will be located in other parts of the country in the future.
On April 10, the Danish Defense Ministry stated that there is currently no Russian military attack on Denmark.
