In return, Ukraine should receive reliable guarantees of its future security, as well as strong economic assistance for future development. At the same time, they emphasize that France and the United Kingdom would like Ukraine to recognize the loss of territories only with the example of the agreement between the Republic of Korea and the DPRK.
In his turn, Financial Times wrote that President Vladimir Putin and Trump Special Envoy Steveburg stated that Moscow "can refuse to have four partially occupied Ukrainian areas left under Kyiv." According to the publication, in response, the United States has raised the legal recognition of Russia's law on the Crimean Peninsula, as well as the actual recognition of Moscow on the territories of Ukraine.
