The United States has made proposals to cease the war in Ukraine, including concessions to Moscow, and the possible recognition of Crimea and the possibility of Ukraine's accession to NATO, reporting the Wall Street, citing its sources.
These ideas are outlined in the document, which highlighted the White House officials presented Ukrainian and European officials in Paris on April 17, the newspaper clarifies. Washington is waiting for Kiev's response during a meeting with representatives of Ukraine and European countries in London at the end of the week. Later, if the positions of the parties coincide, the proposals will be presented to Moscow.
At the same time, according to WSJ, Washington does not recognize Russia's control over Donbas, Zaporozhie and Kisson regions, although he does not demand the withdrawal of Russian troops from there.
According to Western officials, another White House offer envisages the surrounding areas of Zaporozhile's nuclear power plant and hand them over to US control. According to the newspaper's sources, the United States does not propose to limit the number of Ukrainian army and does not rule out military assistance from the West and the deployment of European troops in Ukraine, which, however, is "a key obstacle" for Moscow, according to WSJ.
