Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghi in Moscow. The parties discussed negotiations on Iran's nuclear program between Tehran and Washington in Oman.
Russia has welcomed the agreement on the Iranian nuclear program, the desire of the United States and Iran and expressed readiness to promote the negotiation process between the countries, and at the same time stressed that Iran's legitimate interests should be taken into account.
"Tehran believes that it is possible to reach an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program, but the unrealistic demands of the United States reduce the possibility of an agreement," he said.
The two Foreign Ministers' focused was also the new Russian-Iranian strategic agreement, the adoption of which praised the parties.
"Entry into force of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between Russia and Iran will have a positive impact on Tehran's and Moscow cooperation, capitals develop their relations, despite attempts by pressure," Lavrov said.
The sitting of the Russian and Iranian intergovernmental commission will take place on April 23-25, in Moscow, the parties will discuss the implementation of joint projects, bilateral infrastructure, logistics and investment cooperation, as well as the construction of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, the Russian Foreign Minister said.
