We must work hard so that RA does not turn into a one-party dictatorship, the right should be paramount. Chalabyan

Public politician Avetik Chalabyan writes:

"Along with his co-authors James Robinson and Simon Johnson, this year's Nobel Prize in Economics was awarded to Daron Achemoghlu, an economist of Armenian origin, born and raised in Istanbul, and working mainly in the USA.

This is an important achievement for these scientists, because the works they authored are still very fresh (Nobel prizes are often awarded 30-40 years after the publication of scientific works). Achemoghlu and Robinson's most famous work, "Why Nations Fail" was published only 12 years ago, and although it is controversial on many issues, it immediately became a global bestseller. The most important thesis of this fundamental work is the relationship between the economic success of countries and the political system operating in them. is the disclosure by the example of many countries. The authors present extensive evidence that, other things being equal, countries with a competitive and inclusive political system achieve economic success, as a result, the judicial system is more independent and efficient, the political pressure on businessmen and the burden of corruption are significantly less, the economy the freedom of entry and activity in various fields is much higher.

Although there are some exceptions to this pattern, in general, it clearly works for similar countries. The differences between countries in Latin America and Africa are most striking: countries with inclusive, democratic and stable political systems have achieved far greater economic success than those dominated by one party or military dictatorships. - we must work hard and persistently so that our country never turns into a one-party dictatorship, so that the courts are independent, the law is supreme, political opponents are not arrested on trumped-up charges, and businessmen and their enterprises do not become the target of arbitrary expropriation.

Unfortunately, today we are still far from it (and we continue to move away), but if we want to remain viable and succeed in our predatory external environment, we have no other choice. we will be able to work directly with them for the benefit of our nation and state."
