China has consistently viewed the European Union as important political and economic force in a multi-faceted world. This was announced by Chinese President Xi Jindpin at the meeting with the Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez in Beijing.
"China has always considered the EU as an important pole in a multi-faceted world," said China's Central Television. "We are a major country that openly supports EU unity, development and growth."
China's leader noted that China and Europe must remain loyal to their partnership and continue open cooperation. Beijing is ready to develop China-EU relations to bring more benefits to both sides and international community, he added.
Xi Jintpin noted that China wants to strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership with Spain to improve the welfare of the two peoples, to inject the incentive to China-EU relations and make a greater contribution to global development.
