How much has the level of Lake Sevan dropped?


The hydrometeorology and monitoring center presented the hydrological regime of Lake Sevan in the period between October 7-13. According to it, the lake level dropped by 1 cm in the period between October 7-13 and amounted to 1900.49m (13.10.24), which it is 21 cm higher than the level of the same day last year, and 32 cm higher than the level of January 1, 2024.

The amount of water transferred to Lake Sevan through the Arpa-Sevan aqueduct was 0.602 million m³ between October 7-13, and 179.984 million m³ from January 1 to October 13, 2024 inclusive.

In 2024, water withdrawal from Lake Sevan for irrigation purposes began on June 16 and continued until September 16 inclusive, and according to the data of the Geghamavan observation point of the Hrazdan HPP canal, the total volume of water released from the lake during that period was 131.038 million m³.
