A robot conductor appeared in the Dresden Symphony Orchestra

The first demonstration of the MAiRA Pro S robot-conductor took place last weekend in the German city of Dresden. This was reported by the British periodical The Guardian.

"Both performances aim to showcase the latest achievements of car masters, as well as the music that was specially written for the use of modern technologies," the publication stated.

The artistic director of the Dresden Symphony Orchestra, Markus Rindt, stated that he did not pursue the goal of "replacing people", but of performing complex music that human conductors would find impossible.

The RusVerlag.de newspaper noted that the unusual concerts were dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Dresden Symphony Orchestra. During the concerts, the robot used three hands, breaking the rhythm, and managed to show dynamics at the same time.

According to journalists, MAiRA Pro S does not stand out with charisma or passion, but it keeps a perfect rhythm.
