US President Donald Trump has declared a state of emergency in the country due to the economic situation and trade deficit. This is stated in the documents spread by the White House.
"Today the United States President stated that foreign trade and economic policy has created a national emergency, and its executive order sets responsive customs duties to strengthen the United States.
The international economic position of the United States and to protect American workers, "the document reads.
It notes that the permanent commercial deficit destroyed the US Production base, lacks the expansion of production capacity, has disrupted the important supply chains and left the US military-industrial complex depending on "foreign opponents."
"President Trump does not want other countries to use the United States and thinks that customs duties are important to trade fair, to protect American workers and reduce the trade deficit," said the White House.
