A police officer behaved inappropriately towards a Canadian citizen at "Zvartnots" airport

On October 1, information was transferred from the investigative department of the Yerevan city of the RA investigative committee to the Zvartnots airport line department of the Yerevan investigative department of the RA investigative committee, that on September 28, RA cr. As photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reports, the said criminal proceedings were initiated on May 24 based on the alarm of Rachel D., a Canadian citizen.

Rachel D. reported that she was at Zvartnots Airport to go to Vancouver, Canada, but she missed her flight due to sleeping in a cafe, and after all that, she was taken to the office of one of the police officers, where she lay down on the sofa and after some time the police officer approached him and sat next to him, started behaving inappropriately, moved his legs, wiped his tears and even tried to kiss him, after which he pushed him away and did not allow him to touch him. The officer then briefly left the room, then returned again and closed the door from the inside, creating a situation of fear and anxiety for himself.


Due to the fact of the incident, a criminal proceeding was initiated in the investigative department of the "Zvartnots" airport of the investigative department of the Yerevan city of the investigative committee of the RA under the characteristics of "violent act of sexual nature".
