Kirust Koventrin was elected a new head of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) from Zimbabwe. He is the first woman to hold this position.

Former 41-year-old swimmer Koventrin is a double champion of the Olympic Games, he is the Minister of Sports of Zimbabwe, the most impressive athlete in the country's history.

Thomas Bach was the chairman of the IOC in 2013, he will leave the post this summer, and the new leader will take responsibilities on June 24.
