The Iranian government is allegedly carrying out an assassination attempt against the Republican presidential candidate and former head of the White House, Donald Trump. The American publication Politico writes about this, citing sources.
According to the source, in addition to Trump, attempts were made to kill former high-ranking officials, whom Tehran allegedly accuses of killing Iranian General Qasem Soleimani in 2020. "Iran's efforts to kill Trump and former senior officials whom it (Tehran - ed.) accuses of killing Soleimani have become more active and aggressive than previously reported," writes Politico.
The publication claims, among other things, to have had conversations with 24 officials.
They include former lawmakers as well as US Secret Service agents and senior officials. During the conversation, they allegedly told Politico about hacking and attempts to conduct digital surveillance on former officials and their family members.
