The Baltic States and Polish Defense Ministers have announced their intention to leave Ottawa's Inteva Convention for the Ottawa Prosecutor's Convention and have advised to make a relevant decision on the joint statement on the website of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense.
"We believe that in the current security environment, it is important to provide flexibility and freedom to our defense forces, to use new weapons systems and solutions to strengthen the defense of the alliance.
For these reasons, we, in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Polish Defense Ministers, unanimously advise to leave the Ottawa Convention, "the statement said.
