Aram Hamparian, Executive Director of the Armenian National Committee of America, made the following statement on the premature information on the "Peace" agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"The Armenian National Committee of America strives for real peace, fair and lasting peace, which respects the rights of Armenians and provides the return of Armenians to the unilateral concession of Armenia's security and sovereignty, which is imposed on the threat of weapons," Hamparian said.
According to the press reports, the talks on the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan have ended, and the two governments have stated that they are ready to sign an undiscovered agreement. According to Armenian and Azerbaijani officials, this agreement aims to formulate the relations between the two countries, ignoring the illegal detention of the Armenian prisoners of war, the demands of the existing Armenia's Constitution, as well as the obstruction of the collective, protected and decent law of the Artsakh return. As a result of the war by Turkey and Azerbaijan in 2020, Azerbaijan carried out a 10-month cruel blockade, which ended with the genocidal ethnic cleansing of Artsakh. After the attacks in September 2023, 120,000 Armenian Christians were forcibly displaced from their historical homeland.
In an early-assessed statement, taking into account the many obstacles to fair and long peace, Secretary of State Marco Rubions said:
"The United States welcomes the end of the talks on the historical peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
