The specialists of the Japanese Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO) have started the next batch of industrial water cleaned from the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant to the ocean. The statement came from the Japanese company.
This is the 11th omission of water from the station, within which it is planned to release 7.8 thousand tons of water in the ocean.
In March 2011, Tsunami damaged the electricity and cooling blocks of the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant, which led to the destruction of three reactor vessels, explosions and large amounts of radioactive materials. To date, the area of the station and the surrounding areas have been practically cleared.
However, water is constantly filled into destroyed reactors, to freeze the hot nuclear fragments, which then flows with heavy radioactive pollution and gathers. The water is cleaned, used again for cooling and partially accumulated in tanks in the station area.
