Polling stations opened on Tuesday in Greenland. They will work local time by 20:00 (01:00 Moscow), the population of the island should vote for 31 deputies of the parliament (Institute).
Members of the Greenland parliament are elected for a period of four years. The recent elections took place on April 6, 2021, and their results were published at 4:30 local time at 10:30 Moscow's day. Both parties and individual candidates can be nominated. The party can nominate a maximum of 62 candidates for mandates in the Institute.
There is no official threshold for the elections, but to get a mandate about 3% of the total votes. The number of people entitled to choose in 2025 is 40482. Danish citizens over the age of 18, who live in Greenland for at least six months before the elections have the right to vote.
4,1,126 people had the right to vote in the 2021 elections, of which 27109 took part in the voting. As a result, the voter turnout was 65.9%. The record was 76% set in 1999.
