President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stated during the opening ceremony of the Igdir-Nakhichevan gas pipeline in Turkey that the Armenian Nakhichevan was "an ancient Azerbaijani land, which is more than a century separated from the main part of Azerbaijan."
He also went further, distorting historical facts and claiming that the Soviet government was turned off in 1920 by the RA Syunik region "turned on Armenia".
This injustice on more than a century has very opposed to the lives of our compatriots living in Nakhichevan, "said the Crypet of Azerbaijan, accusing the Armenian side that Armenia allegedly tried to capture Nakhichevan.
