The observation mission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has recognized the elections of the lower house of the Parliament of Tajikistan on March 2 transparent and democratic. The head of the SCO observation mission, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization, Piao Yanfan, stated this at the press conference.
"The mission recognizes the past elections as transparent, reliable and democratic," he said. Piao Yanfan noted that the electoral process has passed to national legislation and international obligations of the republic.
He also stressed that the mission did not record any violations that could affect the election results.
