Today marks the 37th anniversary of the Karabakh movement. The topic of Artsakh has always been a sensitive issue for our society, including even in the Soviet years.
What we have today, 37 years later, and more precisely, 7 years after the "Nicolan change of government". The content of the talks on the table for 28 years, which should give the political settlement of the issue, made public.
As much as permissible. And there was no way that the talks were under a separate or secret, as they were held at the meetings and discussions with the Co-Chairs under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
However, the mediators organized not only the meetings, but also presented some proposals. According to him, there have been some negotiation approaches, on the basis of which the Artsakh issue had to be resolved.
In 2007, these proposals were crystallized in the form of Madrid Principles, which, in general, were acceptable to the parties to the conflict.
On the other hand, various negotiation packages were presented over time, which is true that it was not the option we had to make some compromise solutions.
Moreover, there has been no proposal in the whole negotiation history on Artsakh, where the issue of the rights of the Armenian population of Artsakh was not considered to be one or me. But even in that case there was no shortage of critics. Some political circles were trying to play on the emotions of the people.
For example, in 2016, Pashinyan stated that "an alliance was formed in the Karabakh issue to implement a so-called program, which is known as the Lavrov Plan."
After the government came to power, Pashinyan used the topic of Artsakh and gave them a pride. In particular, he noted that "the people must decide whether the option of resolving the Karabakh issue is beneficial to us or not."
Or, "even the most sacred government cannot solve the Karabakh issue without taking into account the people's opinion." At the beginning, he stated that the people of Artsakh did not mandate for negotiations, and Artsakh should be involved in the negotiation process as a major party to the conflict.
But the promise to negotiate to Artsakh was not a reality, as Azerbaijan also advanced the approach that the so-called "Azerbaijani community" should also become a party.
Different foreign officials began to have official meetings with representatives of the community.
In addition, Pashinyan suddenly "forgot" that he had not received a mandate for the talks and began to negotiate concrete and had meetings with the President of Azerbaijan.
He emphasized that he did not continue negotiations in accordance with his former heritage, as he had a very difficult heritage in the Artsakh issue, and he started negotiations from zero point.
And the solution of his imaginement was that it "should have been acceptable to the peoples of Armenia, Artsakh and Azerbaijan."
A solution that seemed impossible to find it very difficult to find such an option at the same time, especially in the conditions when Azerbaijan adopted a maximalist approach.
And in front of that background, Pashinyan even stated that "the Karabakh conflict does not have a military solution," Artsakh is Armenia, "the velvety revolution must bring the" velvet revolution on the international de jure recognition of Artsakh's self-determination "and so on. As a result, we saw where these statements appeared, when the theme of the Artsakh was closed for the authorities today. It doesn't even talk about their minds, even about the right to the people of Artsakh, in all the promises related to Artsakh, the authorities have had total failure.
A few days after the war, Pashinyan published a roadmap, which noted separately about the need to restore the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, the status of Artsakh and their place of residence.
But, let's and see that Pashinyan is now trying to "substantiate" the OSCE Minsk Group the need to implement the Azerbaijani demand that it allegedly "threw it side by me for 30 years."
After all this, the language of the authorities still revolves that the "former" had already handed over Artsakh, they negotiated on one issue, how to commit and so on.
But if we compare the options for compromises negotiated during the previous ones, even the most new conditions for us have planned much better conditions than what we have now with Nikol Pashinyan's "light hand."
There is a difference between mountains and valleys. In 2019, Pashinyan was offered a certain compromise on the basis of the mediators before the negotiator, but he rejected that option.
After all, he had to differentiate between the negotiations from the zero point, but today they have realized his demands, but today we all stand in the "broken stash."
