On February 9, the Kotayk Department of the Community Police received information that there had been an argument in the village of Jraber, during which shots were fired.

“Shortly after, the Ministry of Internal Affairs Police received a report from the “Abovyan” Medical Center that a 36-year-old resident of the village of Byurakn in the Shirak region and a 40-year-old resident of the village of Berkaber with an open gunshot wound had sought medical attention. As a result of the joint measures taken by the criminal and community police of Kotayk, information was received that, according to preliminary data, a 48-year-old resident of the Kotayk region went to the house of a 40-year-old man in the Nor Gyugh community and attacked the 36-year-old man there with the intention of killing him.
He hit a 36-year-old man on the head with an electric saw located in the same place, took an axe, struck him again, after which he fired shots from a pistol he had at a Kia car driven by a 40-year-old man who had come to help, as a result of which the latter received a gunshot wound.
In order to prevent possible developments, criminal police officers visited the 48-year-old man’s place of residence to arrest him.
Seeing the police officers, he fled in a car. During the chase, reaching a gas station on the Yerevan highway in the village of Kanakeravan, he parked the car, fired 2 shots at the criminal police officers, one of which hit the service car.
During the pursuit, seeing that shots were being fired at them again, the criminal police officer fired two warning shots into the air from the Makarov pistol attached to him, after which he fired once at the tire of the car. The pursued car was stopped by patrol officers who arrived to help.
The man was neutralized and arrested. A personal search revealed a loaded Makarov pistol on him. There was another bullet in the magazine, and 3.15 grams of a dropper with a yellowish-green mass in his pocket.
