German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that at the moment there is no talk of Ukraine joining NATO.

"The American government is postponing it. NATO decisions are such that it will not be blocked, but it is not discussed, and therefore we are not talking about NATO membership, which I am talking about directly," Scholz noted.

At the same time, Scholz insisted that currently they are talking about guaranteeing Ukraine's defense.

The Chancellor said that there should be no discussions behind Ukraine's back.
