Beijing and Moscow deepen strategic cooperation. Putin and Tsingpin negotiated for 2.5 hours

The negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping have ended, writes Kommersant.

The negotiations lasted for about 2.5 hours and were held first in a narrow and then in an extended format. After their completion, the heads of state signed a joint statement on comprehensive partnership and deepening of strategic interaction. The document itself has not yet been published. A total of ten cooperation documents between the two countries were signed.

Assistant to the President Yuri Ushakov said earlier that this joint statement of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China is a document, it contains more than 30 pages. The document mentions "the special nature of bilateral relations" and outlines "ways to develop the entire complex of bilateral relations, confirming the leading role of Russia and China in the formation of a just and democratic order."

Vladimir Putin's state visit to Beijing will last May 16-17. The Russian delegation consists of Minister of Defense Andrei Belousov, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Secretary of the Security Council Sergey Shoigu and Yuri Ushakov. An informal dinner between the President of the Russian Federation and the President of the People's Republic of China is planned, with the participation of some members of the delegations.
