US President Donald Trump expressed his desire to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin "as soon as possible" in order to end the conflict in Ukraine.
Trump announced this in a video message to the Davos World Economic Forum.
"One thing is very important. I want to have the opportunity to meet with President Putin to put an end to this war as soon as possible," Trump said in particular.
He also claimed that Ukraine is ready to negotiate and sign an agreement with Russia to settle the conflict.
"Ukraine is ready to conclude a deal. This war should not have started under any circumstances. If I was the president at that time, it would never have started," Trump said.
