Today, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan participated in the panel discussion titled "How to spread Europe's influence" organized within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Presenting the concept of the "intersection of peace", Pashinyan noted that the program is about "making regional transport communication more efficient, creating new transport connections not only with Azerbaijan, but also with Turkey", according to him, the program will deepen Armenia's cooperation with Iran and Georgia.
According to Pashinyan, the program is also beneficial for the EU. "This is also about the EU, because if this plan becomes a reality, we will have new chain routes through Armenia for the European Union," he said. Talking about establishing diplomatic relations with Turkey, he said. "Usually people ask me if I am positive or pessimistic about this issue. I want to say that I am neither positive nor pessimistic, I am pragmatic.
Just understand that we have to work until we solve the task. The most important thing is not to deviate from the peace agenda, you should focus on the goal and work without giving up, without getting disappointed. But we also need the support of the international community and I hope we will get that support."
During the panel discussion, Pashinyan was asked how he is going to navigate the complex geopolitical situation, when various regional players are guided by the "if you are not with me, then you are against me" policy.
"You know, that's why we decided to adopt a balanced foreign policy. This means that we will not try to create a balance in our various relations with the EU, Russia and other states of the region.
We value relations with Iran. I already mentioned that we are trying to establish diplomatic relations with Turkey, we are trying to achieve peace with Azerbaijan.
Of course, this is not easy, but on the other hand, I do not think that it is impossible. It may sound strange, but really we are "suspiciously" transparent with all our international partners about our intentions.
We inform all our partners about what we are doing with other partners," he said.
