"The international community should pay attention to another obvious problem in the context of Haiti, which most directly affects the situation in this country. we are talking about the uncontrolled flow of arms to Haiti despite the current territorial embargo.
We all understand that the solution to this issue is in the hands of one state that is either unwilling or unable to stop these illegal flows, which actually feed the criminal groups operating in the country," the diplomat told the UN Security Council. at the council meeting.
He also noted that the United States has not shared any information with UN Security Council sanctions committee experts about its efforts to combat arms shipments to Haiti, "thus complicating the international community's actions."
"However, this approach does not surprise us in the context of Washington's manipulation of Haiti with unilateral sanctions and political engineering technologies for many years," concluded Nebenzia.
Haiti is facing a major security crisis following the assassination of President Jovenel Moise in 2021 and a devastating earthquake there.
