The former president of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, announced that she did not pardon the former leader of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, because of the threat of imposing new punishments on him.
"As for Saakashvili, I think everyone knows my position, which I have repeatedly expressed the fact that there was no legal possibility to pardon him without making a new sentence for his release," he said.
According to him, it takes 48 hours to release someone from prison, and in the case of Saakashvili, three new sentences are threatened. "He will be released from prison only when "Georgian Dream" leaves power," Zurabivshili added.
Saakashvili, who is now a citizen of Ukraine, left Georgia in 2013, after which 4 criminal cases were initiated against him in the country, two of which were sentenced in absentia to three years and an additional six years in prison.
