Zelensky accused the West of lying and injustice to Ukraine regarding NATO

Vladimir Zelensky accused Western countries of lying and treating Ukraine unfairly in connection with Kyiv's membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. He expressed displeasure that Germany and the USA decided whether Ukraine should be in NATO or not.

"Frankly, on the part of some forces, I think it was not a very transparent policy in the beginning, and they did not support us in joining NATO, and these were just lies that yes, Ukraine will be in NATO, because for decades have passed, and Ukraine is not in NATO, and therefore it was unfair to Ukraine and Ukrainians," he said during the World Economic Forum in Davos.

However, Zelensky hastened to justify himself and noted that the former leaders of the country were also dishonest with the Ukrainians, assuring them that they had promised membership to Kyiv.

Continuing his reasoning, Zelensky went on to criticize Washington and Berlin, which, in his opinion, have lost the dialogue with Moscow over Kyiv's membership in NATO.
