Russia is ready to support the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan in 2020-2022 in all directions of the development of trilateral agreements, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday.
"We are ready to provide the necessary assistance in the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, so to speak, in the development of the tripartite agreements reached by the leaders of the three countries in 2020-2022, that these agreements are still relevant, especially considering the current situation in the region the situation," Lavrov told Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
For the first time, negotiations between the heads of the foreign ministries of Russia and Armenia are taking place in the restored Great White Hall of the Moscow Ministry's mansion.
In 2022, Yerevan and Baku started discussing the future peace treaty with the mediation of Russia, USA and EU. At the end of May 2023, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that Yerevan is ready to recognize the sovereignty of Azerbaijan within the Soviet borders, that is, together with Karabakh.
