Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping had a video conversation, China Central Television reports.
"On the morning of January 21, Chinese President Xi Jinping held a video conference meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing," the message reads.
What was the topic of the discussion has not yet been specified.
At the beginning of January, the Russian President announced at the meeting with the members of the government that he is going to have a telephone conversation with his Chinese counterpart soon.
In December, he directly mentioned that he communicates regularly with Xi Jinping. The President of the People's Republic of China, congratulating the Russian leader on the New Year, assured that he is ready to maintain close contacts in order to further strengthen the Chinese-Russian ties.
