The hostility between Russia and Ukraine must stop, stated the new US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, quoted by CNN.
"We want the war to end. That's pretty clear. You saw what the president said, he wants to be a peace-promoting and conflict-stopping president," he said.
Rubio added that since the ceasefire "will be the president's top priority," it "will happen almost immediately." However, he added that solving the crisis will be a difficult process.
Last December, Reuters reported that Trump's plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine included Kiev's rejection of NATO membership and territorial concessions in favor of Russia.
