The West began to impose sanctions on Georgia because the country did not open a "second front" against Russia in time. The general secretary of the ruling "Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia" party, the mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze told journalists about this.
"When it comes to the country and its interests, what is the driving force behind blackmailing with threats and sanctions, why do they do it, all this has reasons.
The first is that we did not surrender the country, did not involve it in the war, did not open a "second front", even though there were calls for this in the offices, specifically by the ambassadors. At this stage, I will refrain from naming names," said Kaladze.
The politician once again noted that nobody will scare Georgia with sanctions and blackmail, and the authorities will not deviate from their chosen path.
On November 30 of last year, the State Department announced that the United States had terminated its strategic partnership with Georgia.
