"Hraparak" newspaper writes:
"Yesterday afternoon, the government announced that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"The interlocutors discussed the results of the presidency of the Republic of Armenia in the Eurasian Economic Union, the upcoming tasks within the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as a number of issues of the Armenia-Russia bilateral agenda."
Later, the Kremlin released a message, from which it became clear that the telephone conversation took place at the initiative of the Armenian side, which is not even hinted at in the message released by the Prime Minister's office.
According to the Russian side, Nikol Pashinyan gave clarifications to Vladimir Putin. "Nikol Pashinyan clarified the situation related to Yerevan's latest steps in the context of relations with the European Union.
The head of the Russian Federation gave appropriate comments and assessments," the Kremlin statement said.
In fact, Nikol Pashinyan continues to play on two strings, first he agrees to the EU membership project of Armenia, and then, after the warnings of the Russian side, he probably tries to play tricks and justify himself that all this is not against the Russian Federation.
We wrote that threats from the Russian side, in particular, the imposition of a dilemma by either the EU or the EAEU, caused serious worries for Pashinyan.
Last week, he gathered some of his teammates and held a discussion in Ijevan on how to avoid the serious blows that threaten us as a result of the possible restrictions of the Russian Federation.
However, as a matter of fact, no solutions were offered and Pashinyan, finding himself in a desperate situation, decided to talk to the "tsar" on his own initiative, clarify the situation and mitigate the blows.
By the way, there was information in advance that the draft of the referendum on EU membership sent to the parliament should be adopted at the first session on January 20, but it was not even included in the agenda of the plenary session of the National Assembly.
