Gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Serbia have been stopped, and it is not known when they will resume.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced this on Saturday, January 11, Tanjug agency reports.
According to him, the Azerbaijani side announced the suspension of supplies.
"I have received information from our Azerbaijani brothers and friends that due to force majeure circumstances and the problems they faced, we cannot count on the 1.7 million cubic meters of gas that was supplied daily," said Vucic.
As he noted, it is not yet clear when the gas supply will resume.
"This means that from now on we will start using our gas reserves," said Vucic. He expressed hope that supplies will resume in a month or two.
Baku, however, denied Vucic's statements. The Azerbaijani TV channel AnewZ, referring to the "reliable" sources of the government, noted that the reports about the two-month suspension of gas supply from Azerbaijan to Serbia do not correspond to reality.
According to the Azerbaijani media, despite the fact that the gas supply was temporarily reduced due to the technical problem of the "Shah Deniz Alfa" platform, the sources assured that the "Shah Deniz Bravo" platform continues to work at full capacity, ensuring the continuity of exports. Deliveries are expected to resume very soon.
