The expected meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin may take place in Switzerland, the spokesperson of the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nicola Bideau, said in an interview with the local publication Le Temps.
According to the diplomat, Switzerland is ready to host the meeting of the presidents of the USA and Russia, if they apply.
Bern will not show initiative in this matter, he noted.
"Since the Burgenstock summit, we have regularly informed Ukraine, Russia and the United States of our readiness to support any diplomatic effort that will contribute to the establishment of peace," Bideau said.
Both Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump had earlier announced their readiness to participate in such a meeting.
