Asad Hassan al-Shibani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Transitional Government of Syria, announced his intention to visit European countries.
"I will lead a high-level delegation's tour to European countries aimed at strengthening cooperation," he said during a press conference with Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Taian in Damascus. Al-Watan newspaper quoted al-Shibani as saying.
At the end of November, the armed opposition groups launched a large-scale attack against the positions of the Syrian army. On December 8, they entered Damascus, Bashar al-Assad resigned from the position of the president of Syria and left the country.
On December 10, Mohammed al-Bashir, who led the so-called "Salvation Government" in Idlib province, announced his appointment as head of the Syrian government for a transitional period that will last until March 1, 2025.
