In the USA, 19 people will be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, they will receive it from the hand of American leader Joe Biden. This is stated in the message posted on the website of the White House.
Among the recipients are former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who participated in the 2016 presidential election from the Democratic Party, American billionaire George Soros, American fashion designer Ralph Lauren, Argentine football player Lionel Messi, Irish musician Bono and American actor Denzel Washington.
The award recognizes individuals who have "contributed to the prosperity, values or security of the United States, world peace" or other significant efforts and initiatives.
The Presidential Medal of Freedom, the United States' highest civilian award, is expected to be presented on Saturday, January 4.
