In Kazakhstan, two people were sentenced to seven years in prison for promoting terrorism

In Kazakhstan, two people were sentenced to seven years in prison for promoting terrorism. This was reported by the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan (NSC).

"One of them, a resident of Taraz, spread calls among his circle to participate in military operations by terrorists abroad, and also planned to join them and was sentenced to 7 years in prison," the report said.

The department noted that the second convict is a resident of Almaty, repeatedly convicted of common crimes. According to the National Security Committee, he preached a radical ideology on the Internet.

Since the beginning of 2024, 84 people have been sentenced for terrorist and extremist activities in Kazakhstan, the National Security Committee reports.
