In the new period, Turkey will provide full support to promote permanent peace, tranquility, stability and economic prosperity in Syria, according to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's New Year's message on December 31.
The Turkish president noted that Ankara is making intensive efforts to end the 15-month bloodshed in the Gaza Strip and other Palestinian territories, as well as to establish peace in the region.
"In the coming period, we will take decisive steps to make our vision of Turkey and the region free from terrorism a reality," he emphasized.
According to the Turkish leader, if necessary, Turkey will "use the iron fist of the country without hesitation" in order to ensure its security.
