Emergency case: Vayots Dzor region

Today, December 29, an emergency occurred in Vayots Dzor region. Around 09:40, the 911 National Crisis Management Center of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia received an alert that a fire broke out in a "Kamaz" truck on the Yerevan-Meghri highway at the Getap intersection.

As photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reports, rescuers from the Yeghegnadzor fire-rescue squad of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs arrived promptly, and first prevented the spread of the fire in the engine compartment and the interior of the car, and then extinguished it.

Fortunately, according to preliminary information, there were no casualties as a result of the fire.

The patrols of the 1st company of the Vayots Dzor Marz battalion of the RA MIA Police Patrol Service, led by the battalion commander Karapet Harutyunyan and the senior inspector of the battalion service, Hayk Soghoyan, arrived promptly at the scene of the incident.

Senior patrolman Sergey Hambardzumyan and junior patrolman Daniel Babayan of the same company demarcated the area and performed duty.

The duty team of the Yeghegnadzor Department of the Main Department of Community Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, led by the head of the department, Armen Armenakyan, also arrived at the scene.

The police and the patrol service are investigating the identity of the driver.
