Inauguration ceremony of President Mikheil Kavelashvili has started in Georgia (video)

The inauguration ceremony of the sixth president of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili has started in the Georgian Parliament building.

The ceremony will last about 40 minutes and takes place against the background of protests by the opposition and its supporters, who do not recognize the results of the elections and consider the new president illegitimate. Kavelashvili will swear on the Constitution specially printed for this day.

A copy will then be moved to the Parliamentary Museum and used for future inaugurations.

It should be noted that former president Salome Zurabishvili decided to spend her last night in office in her residence in the Orbelian Palace. At 10:00 he will announce his future plans.
